It is about providing useful, educational, or entertaining information that responds to the needs and interests of the audience, to build a relationship of trust and long-term loyalty.

Content marketing involves identifying the needs and preferences of the target audience, and then developing and sharing content that meets those needs. This can include blog articles, videos, infographics, podcasts, eBooks, guides, and other content formats. Content is distributed through different channels, such as websites, social media, email newsletters, and content platforms, and sometimes becomes complementary content to the brand’s main goal.


Some examples of content marketing are:

HubSpot: HubSpot is a marketing and sales software company that uses content marketing to educate and engage its target audience. They regularly publish content on their blog, which covers a wide range of topics related to digital marketing, lead generation, and CRM. They also offer free eBooks, templates, and tools to help marketers improve their skills and knowledge.

Airbnb: Airbnb has created a content platform called Airbnb Magazine, which offers travel stories and lifestyle tips related to popular destinations. They also have a section called “Neighbourhood Guides” on their website, where they provide detailed information on places to visit, eat, and stay in cities around the world. This content helps inspire and guide travelers while promoting the accommodations available on Airbnb.

One of the most important elements in relation to this type of marketing is the generation of a plan. A content marketing plan is essential to set clear goals, know your audience, maintain consistency, optimize your resources, measure performance, and continually improve your strategy. It gives you clear direction and helps you maximize the impact of your content marketing efforts.

The steps to follow are those that have already been mentioned above about how to establish a plan: establish clear and SMART objectives, know your audience in-depth, be coherent and consistent, be efficient in the creation and distribution of content, measure metrics to track and establish continuous improvements as the plan progresses.
