Emotional Intelligence and Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy for Agritourism Diversification

Entrepreneurship, particularly in the context of agritourism diversification, demands adept management of emotions, especially in high-stress situations inherent to the entrepreneurial journey. A vital aspect involves acknowledging emotions and understanding them clearly. In the face of stress, entrepreneurs have to engage in emotional attention, gaining awareness of their feelings and comprehending their emotional. Subsequently, entrepreneurs need clarity about these emotions, dissecting the root causes and triggers. This step aids in identifying the source of stress, allowing for more targeted coping mechanisms. However, the most crucial facet lies in devising effective strategies for emotional repair. Entrepreneurial training programs should emphasize this aspect, guiding entrepreneurs to develop practical and efficient strategies for emotional regulation, ensuring they can navigate challenges with resilience.

Moreover, it is imperative to consider the gender dimension in entrepreneurial training. Research indicates that women often exhibit lower levels of Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy (ESE) and consequently, lesser entrepreneurial intention than their male counterparts (López-Núñez etal., 2022). To address this disparity, training initiatives should adopt a gender-sensitive approach. Specialized activities could be integrated into these programs, facilitating an exploration of women’s motivations and aspirations within the agritourism sector. Given the unique stressors faced by women, such as challenges in balancing work and personal life, these tailored interventions can empower female entrepreneurs to overcome obstacles and thrive in their agritourism ventures.

Incorporating emotional intelligence and enhancing ESE among entrepreneurs, especially women in the agritourism sector, not only fosters individual well-being but also augments the overall entrepreneurial ecosystem (Zhou et Bojica, 2017). By equipping entrepreneurs with the skills to navigate their emotions and bolster their self-efficacy, training programs contribute significantly to the resilience and success of agritourism ventures. This holistic approach, acknowledging the emotional challenges inherent in entrepreneurship and tailoring support, accordingly, paves the way for a more inclusive and thriving agritourism industry.
